109 - Walks, Round #2
Yo,
this week, we were taking the rough blocking of the walk into the final smooth version. Loads and loads of sweatwork to get the knee´s movement nice and smooth. In the end, the entire walk was keyed on 1´s. When I took the walk into linear tangents, the first thing I realised was that it´s no use trying to tweak this unless I get myself some markers to draw on the monitor. To check for arcs and generally for smooth motion in the hips, knees and ankles.
Now how do you draw on the lcd screen of a notebook? Well you certainly won´t touch mine! In the end I bought a thicker, transparent plastic sheet. I cut it to the size of the screen and used the locks on the top of the screen as sort of peg bar to attach the plastic sheet fast and easy. And boy is this a huge help! I´m an arc tracking addict. It´s not only helpful, it´s also terrible fun. And it looks totally nerdy :-)
This is the end result of week 109 - the walk in it´s smooth version. I was totally satisfied with it by the time I uploaded it. This rarely happens. Actually, I think it was the first time that this happened. (click to play)

This weeks pose was concerned. I thought I hit it pretty well, but my mentors comment on it was that concern would happen before something went wrong, not so much afterwards.
